Uncanny Sounds

Uncanny Sounds consists of vocalist Juliet Pang and guitarist Clarence Yeo from Singapore. They’re fluid, often indulging in the search for an unfamiliar but brewing chemistry of a lovely old song. Clarence’s choice of rhythmic finger-picking style often reveals strong groovy influences of R&B, Funk and Jazz. He has performed for numerous corporate and private events locally and abroad, including the opening for Soler in Singapore. Juliet seeks to express herself through the arts, and has dabbled in musical theatre, playing ensemble roles for SRT musicals such as Forbidden City, co-written “被风吹过的夏天” with JJ.Lin and sung the theme song for movie “Eating Air (吃风)” – Esplanade

Being music enthusiasts, we have been busy attending gigs and featuring artists these days we are so shorthanded. This gig happened quite a while ago in Esplanade concourse and we delayed posting this as promptly as we could humanly possible so here we go.

Fluid indeed is how we should describe Uncanny Sounds, with Juliet’s strong but smooth vocals and Clarence’s well played guitarist skills which wow-ed the crowd while we were there. Delving further into their previous performances recorded on Youtube,  I especially like the “Summertime” cover’s arrangement and vocals performed in Hong Kong’s Backstage. It would be nice to have this song included, perhaps in their future album?
